Hello I would like to modelled a concrete structure and the soil in a Solids model. The concrete structure bearing on the soil so I would like the solid elements to be connected in compression or bearing only. Due to the overturning moment, gapping…

Dear Folks, I am using Solid Elements for analysis & design block foundation for machine. As I understood from various literature that Sxx, Syy, Szz are normal stresses in the Global X, Y, Z directions respectively. The negative value would mean compressive…

I was trying to create a circular base slab using solids. Can someone please explain why the pic above looks the way it does?...i modelled the lower half and then mirrored the upper half..is this the reason for the that?? Also, at the corners, i was…

Iuliia : The problem was that you had duplicate nodes at the intersection of the machine and block foundation which were causing improper connectivity issues. I merged those and a modified file is attached for your reference. 0020.2620.test.std

I assume you used a mesh of solids to model the machine and also the block foundation and want to ensure proper connection between the machine and the and block foundation. The way to do that is to ensure that both the machine and the block foundation…

  • RE: How to assign section properties to SOLID Elements?

    Sye

Sumesh : The section properties for solid elements are already defined when you define the solid elements. The software automatically calculates the stiffness based on the geometry input. You just need to assign the material to the solids.

My question is related to STAADPRO. I'm searching for a feature of StaadPro (that might not exist) that would allow the evaluation of the forces present in a cross-section comprising more solid elements. For example, imagine a solid model representing…

Hello! This is the first time I've tried to use solid elements to design in STAAD, and I'm finding them quite confusing. I'm trying to model a large vertical solid concrete support pier in water. I created my model using solids for the pier. The…
