In the foundation module, does RAM use the pile cap self weight to reduce tension forces in piles? I do not see a check box for it the way there is one to include self weight for spread footings. Thanks, Brian

Hi I am trying to design a pile cap with only one pile underneath. When I run the program, it doesn't allow me to select single pile but I have to select minimum 2 piles. How can I design with only one pile under it? Thanks.

When pile cap foundations are used in Ram Foundation the user specifies the compression, tension and shear capacity of the piles. The user also specifies the diameter of the piles which, along with the pile cap optimization criteria, determines the geometry…

Defining a Pile Cap job type is fine for your case. I think you are using the Pile Layout (Parametric) option to define the piles. So once you specify the pile diameter, edge to center line of pile distance, number of rows, columns and spacing of piles…

We don't have every configuration of piles - just the 2,3,5,7,8 and rectangular arrays. STAAD Foundation Advanced can do this if that's any help.
