I am working on foundation design automizaiton using STAAD.pro I can see base pressure in post processing mode, however, i don't find way to get the base pressure value in result file or openstaad function. How can i get the base pressure value…

Dear All, I tried to model a piece of equipment slab resting on the ground. I meshed the plate and used foundation support of plate mat with compression only and i am not sure what triggered the warnings such as: **WARNING- JOINT NO. 35 NOT CONNECTED…

Whenever the mat is modeled using plates, please use PLATE MAT. The following wiki offers more detail on the options http://communities.bentley.com/products/structural/structural_analysis___design/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/29301.difference…

You can do that. The correct syntax is plate-list PLATE MAT DIR ALL SUBGRADE f4 f5 f6 where f4 is the subgrade modulus for Y direction ( very important ), f5 and f6 are the moduli for X and Z.

Based on your support command that I see, this is what STAAD.Pro will do. It will calculate the area of influence for each node of the plate mat considering the appropriate area of the plates attached to the node. It will multiply the area calculated…

    1. Elastic and Plate mat are both used to automatically generate support springs to simulate soil support underneath the structure. If you have modeled your mat using plates, use PLATE MAT. If you have not modeled your mat using plates, use ELASTIC MAT…
