If the "Area 1" feature instance contains the 2 holes as indicated and "Area 2" and "Area 3" fill those holes the intersection spatial overlay should work as expected. In the sample design file you provided, there does not appear to be a hole…
Topological analysis
Does anyone have a mvba or mdl program to find the intersection of two lines and place a point or cell at the location? The geoscript function that does this is broken and the current version of Map does not do line/line analysis.
