• Watergems: I am trying to add new pipes and junctions from dxf file. But junction elevations are not getting reflected after modelbuilder. I am mapping elevation to "elevation". Generally this method works. But it is not working when i am trying

My surveyor gives me point elevations in dxf file, situated along centerline of pipeline. When I build my model in Watergems, i usually map "elevation" attribute in junction to elevation field in AutoCAD file. This ensures that i get accurate point elevations…

Hi, I have exported and aerial image as a .tiff file and route of a pipeline as a DXF from QGIS. The pipeline traverses the area covered by the aerial image. When I import them as background layers in WaterCAD there end up in completely different…

I am trying to import 2 dxf files containing a set of lines through ModelBuilder. When I imported the first one, the network is correctly created with pipes corresponding to each line and joints are automatically created to connect pipes. However…

Regan, WaterCAD has the capabilities to model what you're asking about using a DGN or DTM file. The elevations from your survey drawings, depending on the format of the drawings, can be extracted to the node elements in the model using the Terrain Extractor…

Vishal, WaterGEMS can export to a DXF file, EPANET file (.INP), and if you have the i-model publishing engine installed, a .DGN file. The i-model publishing engine can be downloaded with any Hydraulics and Hydrology product from the download page. This…

Hi Sameh, Please try the potential solutions in the following article. Shapefile or DXF background "invalid or corrupt" error (Solution 500000071823) If that doesn't help, please provide the model files, the DXF, and the error log. There is…

Here's one way to do it and you will need ArcGIS for this. (These steps are from my memory so you may have to adjust the steps or wording) 1) Add your DXF or DWG to ArcGIS/ArcMAP 2) Save the Annotation layer and Point to shapefile format. Right click…

Ideally you would set a label for the junctions (and pipes, etc.) in the CAD file, but unfortunately DXF files (the CAD file format currently supported by ModelBuilder) aren't very good at storing attributes along with the lines and points. There are…

As a bit of background, the stand-alone version of WaterGEMS is not intended to have the same GIS or CAD power as the platorms WaterGEMS can run on (MicroStation, ArcGIS, AutoCAD), so for background layer power it is best to work on one of those plaftorms…

Hello Serge, Technical problems like this are best handled through Technical Support, but there are a few basics things to check. This error is generic, so it could indicate any number of problems with the DXF file. A good first step would be to…

Mohamad, Submodel: it supports your selection. So, select first then File > Export > Submodel DXF: Export to submodel first based on your selection then in a new empty project, File > Import Submodel then FIle > Export > Dxf.
