When I change the Description of a Point Feature it changes the Cell Name and the display of the point. How do you fix this or stop it from occurring?

I'm using V8i Select Series 3 and I'm in need of a tool to create legal descriptions. I'm looking for something similar to "Q-Legal" that works for ACAD Civil 3D. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
