RAM Connection module in STAAD.Pro 22.11.00.156
Assigning GussetBP to column web/brace joint. When calculating the beff parameter used in the column welds check, RAM is using the beff parameter calculated based on the length "L" from bolt to the tension…
Hi,
I am new to RAM Connection and wanted to do the moment connection in CHS sections in one of my project. Can I know whether the connection is available now? If so, which version should I install for the same? ( Circular Hollow Section column and…
Hi,
I'm designing a Moment End Plate Beam Splice Connection. In this, web weld strength to reach yield stress is checked with reference from Eqns J2-4 & J4-1 from AISC-2010.
I would like to understand why is the tensile yielding of web is checked…
I am using RAM Connection for a base plate. The base plate has both uplift and shear concurrently. I was looking to see how the interaction of tension and shear was done on the weld and cannot figure out what RAM is doing to calculate the demand.

Most codes have standard tables for verifying the capacity of welded single plates, but in order to use the tabulated values, the welds need to be in a certain range relative to the plate thickness. This insures that the weld is not the weakest link in…

Is there a way to have STAAD analyze a member such that the strength decrease from welding is incorporated? Either with a specific weld application or by somehow having the maximum capacity change based on location of the member?
Thank you
