Hello, I am running a dynamic analysis model in Plaxis to find a vertical displacement of the pipeline in liquefiable soil, but it takes one day and is still running in 11.21 seconds. Is it normal for this kind of analysis in Plaxis? If so, anyone could…

  • So, I have a doubt regarding PM4 models effective stress calculations?

While using PM4 models the effective stress calculation should be based on vu undrained or by using biot effective stress calculations as Pore pressure measurements and liquefaction criteria are the major concern?

  • if using 'Drained' for Drainage type in General and using PM4Sand in Mechanical tab as user defined, no pore pressures are generated in dynamic phase. Should I use 'undrained A' even for sand type material when using PM4 sand?

  • Since PM4sand and PM4 silt models are advanced constitutive models for dynamic analysis. I have read in one journal that for static analysis, they used Mohr-coulomb. Can we change the model after static analysis in one project? IS it possible?

Good morning, Is it possible to set manually the value of the parameter h0 for the PM4Sand model? The value is computed internally with equation 2.31 of the PM4Sand model manual. Thank you in advance, Andrea Balia
