Unable to change the invert elevation of any node

I am unable to change the invert elevation on any of the nodes I have placed. I am able to hard key in a value, but after I do so, it changes the invert elevation to exactly 7.25, it does this exact thing...
Terrain extractor interpolates their elevation by first finding the face that the point is on? How do you do Planar Interpolation?

I called Bentley and they told me that Openroads uses terrain extractor to interpolate elevations inside the triangles on a digital terrain model to create a surface, but I don't understand there method...
