Problem

A log file had to be created for Technicla Support in order to troubleshoot a licensing problem.

Since then, the Bentley programs are starting up very slow.

Solution

Creating a log file can lead to significant performance issues when starting a program,
Therefore, the settings should be reset after succesful creation.

Open the License Manager, see:
Opening License Management Tool

For newer installations, in the License Manager, select Tools > Options and go to the "Error Logging"-tab.
Disable all options under Log Levels

In case the "Error Logging"-tab is not available, which can be due to an older installation, two Windos environment variables were set in the Operating System (go to Control Panel > System, under the Advanced-tab select Environment Variables...):
MS_LMDEBUGLOGLEVEL=ALL
or
MS_LEMDEBUGLOGFILE=C:\AppLICDEBUG.LOG

Both these variables need to be deleted.
