Problem

Users have the option to use v8i Tasks Dialog in later versions of OpenBuildings Designer. There might be an instance where v8i Tasks Dialog does not launch either from Quick Access Toolbar or Key-in DIALOG TASKNAVIGATION TOGGLE.

Resetting OpenBuildings Designer Preferences does not make the dialog work either.

Solution

One of the default paths for configuration variable MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST points to V8iTasks.dgnlib. If the V8iTasks.dgnlib file is missing, the v8i Tasks dialog will not launch. The default path for V8iTasks.dgnlib is: C:\Program Files\Bentley\OpenBuildings 2023\OpenBuildingsDesigner\Default\Gui\Archive\en.

To resolve, check whether MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST points to the default path or V8iTasks.dgnlib is present in any of the locations defined in the configuration variable MS_GUIDGNLIBLIST.
