This announcement is to inform Cube users on the work from home solutions available during the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) outbreak. For a video overview, see the bottom of this article, or the Webinar version here.

Solutions

For users who are working from home due to the COVID-19 (Corona virus) outbreak, Bentley is providing the following solutions:

 Installing Software

Licensing

Cube v6.4 (April 2015) and later

• If you have a floating (concurrent) license activated on an office computer, and is shared with other users in your organization, then we suggest using VPN to connect to your office network and set-up your license manager to point to the office computer. Instructions on connecting to a license server is available at https://communities.bentley.com/products/citilabs-cube/w/citilabs-wiki/47476/connecting-to-a-license-server

• If you cannot connect to your office network through VPN and you have a dedicated (standalone) license not shared with other users, then you can move license activation from your office computer to your work from home computer. Instructions on moving license activation is available at https://communities.bentley.com/products/citilabs-cube/w/citilabs-wiki/47475/moving-license-activation.

 Cube v6.1.1 and earlier

• Cube v6.1.1 (and earlier) licenses come with an installation file and in most cases with a USB dongle (Hardlock) for using the license. Users can install the license on their work from home computers and plugin the hardlock key (if available) to use the software.
