Integration with ArcGIS Pro

SewerGEMS CONNECT Edition Update 3 (build 10.03.03.44) will now integration with ArcGIS Pro. With SewerGEMS for ArcGIS Pro, you can utilize a SewerGEMS model while being able to take advantage of native ArcGIS Pro functionality.

To use ArcGIS Pro integrated version, you would open the shortcut for SewerGEMS for ArcGIS Pro. You will then be prompted to open a new or existing ArcGIS project flle (.APRX). If you select choose to open a new ArcGIS Pro project, the next step would be choosing the map. Once you do this. a map view will open.

The ArcGIS Pro ribbon will include the SewerGEMS menus. You can add a new or existing SewerGEMS model file from the SewerGEMS tab and selecting Hydraulic Model, then choosing either "Add New Hydraulic Model" or "Add Existing Hydraulic Model." Similar to using SewerGEMS for ArcMap, you will then be prompted to add a personal geodatabase that will be associated with the model.

Once you have added or created a hydraulic model to use in SewerGEMS for ArcGIS Pro, the workflow for adding and editing model elements and computing a model will be similar to working in SewerGEMS Standalone or using the SewerGEMS tools in SewerGEMS for ArcMap. Tools like ModelBuilder, LoadBuilder, and Terrain Extractor (among others) are all available, as with the Standalone version of SewerGEMS. You can also add elements manually from the "SewerGEMS (Layout)" tab in the ribbon interface.

To view color coding, display active topology, or display flow arrows, you would first move the SewterGEMS model data to the geotable using Join Geotables. Go to Join Geotables > Add Joins, which will update the geotable so that symbology can be added and updated.

Once completed, you can view the attribute table by right-clicking on an element type in the ArcGIS Pro Contents menu and choosing Attribute Table. In addition to GIS-related information, the attribute table will include element properties and results shown in the element FlexTable.

To add color coding, you can go to the SewterGEMS menu in the ribbon and choose Join Geotables > Initialize Symbology (you will need to highlight an element type in the Contents manager) or right-click on the element type in the Contents manager and select Initialize Symbology. This will open the Layer Symbology dialog so that you can create or manage color coding.

With Add Joins completed, you will also be able to update the drawing as it relates to active topology and flow arrows. If there are inactive elements in the model, you can go to the SewerGEMS-View tab and select Apply Active Topology > Apply Active Topology. Similarly, if you want to display flow arrows, you can go to SewerGEMS-View, then select Apply Flow Arrows > Apply Flow Arrows. If you want to disable either of these, you can go to the SewerGEMS-View tab to do so.

Import NOAA Atlas 14 Data

NOAA Atlas 14 data can now be imported into the Storm Data manager as a User-Defined IDF Table. Create a new User-Defined IDF Table storm event, then click the Import button at the top of the Storm Data manager to import a CSV file.

The NOAA Atlas 14 data will need to saved using intensity data rather than depth.

Updates to Gutter Cross Section tool

Previous releases reported if one of the HEC-22 gutter section shapes is detected, such as Uniform, Composite, Parabolic, V-shape. With this release, the Gutter Cross Section tool will report if one of the HEC-22 sections gutter section shapes is detected. If so, the geometry parameters like cross slopes are reported.

SWMM Time Series Control Data

The Explicit solver now supports time series control data. Time series control data can be used to control pump flow, orifice size change and weir length change. In SWMM control text, time series data labels, which are associated to time series data, are used. Time series data is added to SewerGEMS and is used in Explicit solver loading to make SWMM control fully functional. See the Help documentation for further details.

SWMM Solver version Update

The version of the Explicit (SWMM) solver has been updated to 5.1.015. See: EPA SWMM solver versions used by SewerGEMS and CivilStorm

Note that the calculation options mention 5.1.013, which is an error (Note at the top of the contents of the Report tab of the Calculation Summary, the correct version is displayed as 5.1.015.) This will be corrected in future versions.

Support for conduit thickness in closed irregular conduits.

Conduit thickness is now supported for conduits using the closed irregular conduit shape.
