In OpenPlant Modeler, how to pick nozzle length from spec database instead of default nozzle length.

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler, requirement is pick nozzle length from spec database instead of default nozzle length. Currently in OpenPlant Modeler, by default nozzle length picks length as 127 mm that is defined in schema. Refer below image on the same. This wiki article explains how to remove default nozzle length & schema changes that will enable feature to pick nozzle length from spec database.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Using Bentley Class Editor, open OpenPlant_3D.01.07. ecschema.
  2. Supplement it with OpenPlant_3D.01.07. ecschema, OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_ModelingViews.01.07.ecschema & OpenPlant_3D_Supplemental_Metric_DefaultValues.01.07.ecschema. Refer below image on the same.

  3. Navigate/Go to NOZZLE class, switch to Properties
  4. Search for LENGTH property & select Custom Attribute > Add/Remove as shown below. See image below.



  5. From Add/Remove Custom Attribute Dialog, under Applied Custom Attribute Select Default Value & Up arrow to remove this custom attribute. See image below.



  6. From same dialog, under Available Custom Attributes Select OpenPlant_Physical_Catalog_Property_Map and use drop arrow to add this custom attribute. Ensure to change schema location to Openlant_3D_Supplemental_Modeling.01.07. Refer image below.



  7. Under OpenPlant Physical Catalog Property Map custom attribute, enter property name as COMP_LEN as shown below.



  8. Save all the changes & verify your result.
