How To Create New Associated Property Using Class Editor in OpenPlant Connect Edition

Background

In OpenPlant Modeler CONNECT Edition, sometimes user needs to add a new associated item using Class editor . Alternate , option to add Associated Item is by using OpenPlant Project Administrator. ClickHere

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch Class editor for the desired WorkSet.



  2. Open OpenPlant.01.08.ecschema.xml from C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenPlant CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Workspaces\WorkSpace\WorkSets\WorkSet Name\Standards\OpenPlant\Schemas.



  3. Click on search icon look type in Plant_BreakDown_Element and click on Goto. Now right click on Plant_BreakDown_Element, Add derived class and put the desired class name here, PROJECT_CODE



  4. Now OpenPlant_3D is schema is loaded and now right click to supplement the schema with OpenPlant_Supplemental Schema. Check the small gif clip.



  5. Click on search icon look type in Plant_BreakDown_Element and click on Goto. Now right click on Plant_BreakDown_Element, Add derived class and put the desired class name here, PROJECT_CODE.



    Add Details as Below 



  6. Right click on Project Code and add base classes, Add base Classes 1st from OPENPLANT Schema and 2nd from OPENPLANT 3D schema. See Image below and add accordingly Yellow Highlighted.



  7. Right click on Project Code and Add Custom Attribute  >>> Business Key Specification from Custom Attribute option on the right.





  8. Right click on Relationship Classes and Add Relationship Class as below and then Add Constraints by clicking on class and add Project Code and Named Item respectively.







  9. Lastly, add PROJECT_CODE for Associated Item List For Equipment and add custom attribute for Project_Code as shown below in Green.



  10. Verify Results in OpenPlant Modeler, place an equipment and check the standard preference to see the Project Code added above.
