Background

Many times User creates Custom Component e.g Pump in OPPID through wiki( How to Create Custom Component in OpenPlant PID CONNECT Edition-Link) and then after generating the iModel they need to place the same custom component into OPM CE.

This Wiki will help in how to utilize the Place Custom Equipment option which gets reflected in Consistency Checker when an iModel is attached to the OPM CE dgn

For reference purpose created one Custom Component and placed it into OPPID dgn. And created the iModel for the same.

Steps to Accomplish

  1. Launch OpenModeler CE.

  2. Attach the iModel generated through OPPID CE.Same P&ID can be viewed in OPM working window. Launch the Explorer and into Consistency Checker. In Equipment Node all the equipment will get reflected, Select Custom Component created Pump PMP-0002.

  3.  Right Click on Selected PMP-002 tag, And you will dialog box with placement option.Into that Select Place Custom Equipment.
Since in OPPID we have created Custom Component hence we are assigning it for new component which would be modeled in further steps.
Other option Place Spec Driven Horizontal Pump can also be selected.

  4. Select Par.Horiontal Pump.And then create.

  5. If its a new dgn and associated Items are not defined then It will fetched from iModel attached and create for that new dgn of OPM directly.
So hit on Yes and proceed.

  6. After hitting on Yes you will dialog with Tool setting along with custom component Tag of Pump i.e PMP-0002 and just below it Create option faded.

Along with that into existing OPM dgn you will have further instruction below Manage View Groups stating to select Graphic Item.
  7. Through Modeling workflow created one parametric solid as shown below.

  8. Select Parametric Solid such that it will be into pink colour and Create option into Tool settings will be enabled.

  9. Hitting on Create a Equipment with Tag PMP-0002, Such that Custom Component of OPPID can assigned to Parametric solid created in OPM CE as shown below.
Same Tag PMP-0002 is also seen getting assigned to that parametric solid.

  10. In Consistency Checker it can be seen that Green tick gets reflected denoteing it as getting placed in working area.

Thus Place Custom Equipment option can be utilized in Consistency checker.
