The term "Silent installation" mean no user interface, installation wizards, or prompts are presented to the user. "Deployment image" needs to be created as a pre-configured offline installer. Following are the advantages of using a deployment image:
1. Download the installer for Promis.e CONNECT. Refer the below Wiki Link for steps on How to Download Promis.e CONNECT Installation Package
2. Once the Installer file is downloaded, Deployment Image needs to be created for Promis.e CONNECT. The steps to create deployment image can be followed from below Wiki Link.
3. After the Deployment Image has been created, the Deployment Image Folder needs to be copied / deployed on the Machine locally where Promis.e CONNECT needs to be installed Silently. Note: The Installation Path & Configuration Path Selected while creating Deployment Image will be default Path for Silent Installation unless specified during Silent Installation. 4. Next the copied Deployment Image folder will contain setup file for Promis.e CONNECT like example "Setup_Promis.ex64_10.05.00.038.exe" copy the Mapping Path as Highlighted in the above image. After the Path is copied open Windows "Command Prompt" by searching in Windows Search. 5. In Command Prompt dialog Paste the copied Path for the Promis.e Setup file along with Setup file name. Add space at the end of Path & Setup file and then type in " -q -s -norestart " name without double quotes. Press Enter after competing. Refer the below image for example. This will help in Silent installing Promis.e CONNECT with the Installation Path and Configuration path details selected while creating Deployment Image. To Install Promis.e CONNECT in Specific Installation Folder and Configuration Folder go to next step. Note: The Installation takes a while to complete and the time varies from Machine to Machine. After the Installation is complete you will be able to find the Shortcut on Desktop if selected while creating Deployment Image, or "Promise CONNECT" can be searched in the Start Command.
6. In Command Prompt dialog Paste the copied Path for the Promis.e Setup file along with Setup file name. Add space at the end of Path & Setup file and then type in InstallDirectory="C:\Bentley Promise CONNECT Edition" for location where Promis.e will be installed. Add Space and type in ConfigurationDirectory="C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Promise" to Specify the Path for installing Configuration Folder. Next add Space and type -q -s -norestart. Press Enter after competing. Refer the below image for example.
